Giving back is rewarding and can also be fun!


We hope you will join in our month of service whether it is with family and friends or with our fellow alumni. Several regional alumni chapters have projects/activities scheduled for April and others are supporting our efforts later this spring and summer. Participating Chapters with events/projects in April are listed alphabetically by chapter below (for a listing by date, please see events at right); please click the events to find out more information:

The Boston chapter is volunteering as a part of the 7th Annual Boston Shines citywide neighborhood clean up on Saturday, April 25. They'll be joining several community groups in an effort to beautify Boston! Contact chapter president Ron Ayers '02 with questions.

The Capital District chapter is participating in two different events: the Climb Albany event in support of the American Lung Association and the 15th annual Law Day Run/Walk Against Domestic Violence.  Contact chapter president David Tromp '97 with questions.

The Central New York chapter will be volunteering at Oneida Shores Park on Saturday, April 18 and helping with cross-country trail maintenance. A group lunch following the volunteer work is also planned. Contact NEW chapter president Lindsay Hoffman '07 with questions.

The Charlotte chapter is volunteering with Hands on Charlotte and April's BIG Project! We'd love to have you join our team and help Spring Clean and garden at Alexander Graham Middle School. Contact project leader Andrea Barberi '03

The New Hampshire chapter is repeating an event from last year by volunteering with the NH Food Bank in Manchester on Saturday, April 18. Contact volunteer group leader Tapan Mody '98 with questions.

The North Country chapter will be joining students and local residents in Potsdam on Saturday morning, April 25 for Pride in Potsdam day. All participants will meet at the Rescue Squad Complex. Contact chapter president Elayna Mellas '03 with questions.

The Rochester chapter is doing their highway spring clean up on Saturday, April 18. Contact chapter president Bill Jeffers '01 with questions.


In support of the Alumni Associations' ongoing commitment to service activities - the following chapters have organized projects beyond the month of April:

The Atlanta chapter will be volunteering with the Atlanta Food Bank on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Contact chapter president Syed Abbas '00 with questions.

The Buffalo chapter is volunteering with Buffalo ReUse on Saturday, May 2 to help with tree planting and "National Clean Up Day". Contact chapter president Bridget Barrett '07 with questions.

The Connecticut chapter is currently trying to secure information on volunteering with Church Street Eats in Hartford. Our tentative date is Sunday, May 10 from 11:30 am to 2 pm. Please email Connecticut chapter president Lauren Ress '04 with questions or if you have a different opportunity in mind for a chapter project.

The Denver chapter is forming a team to help sort and pack food for FOOD SHARE AMERICA on Saturday, May 9 from 9 am to noon. Contact chapter president Juan Guzman '91 with questions.

The Washington, D.C. chapter will be making bagged lunches for Embry Rucker Shelter in Reston, VA on Sunday, May 10 at 1:30 pm. Contact chapter president Jen Walden '03 with questions.
