AFROTC Det 536
News Flash: 11 Feb 2016
Good news at the Detachment! Rated results came out and we’ve had a few cadets picked up for Remotely Piloted Aircraft pilot slots. In total 694 slots were given out: Pilot – 345, CSO – 156, RPA – 144, ABM – 49. The RPA career field is a relatively young career field which the USAF is looking to strengthen and taking steps to retain current RPA pilots as well. Congratulations to all those who received a rated slot! Way to go!
In celebration of the signing of a contract to establish an Air Force ROTC contingent on campus, Clarkson arranged for a color guard from Plattsburgh Air Force Base, a cadet drill team from Syracuse University, the Crane School of Music Symphony Band, and the "fly-by" of two Air Force A-10 jet aircraft to honor the occasion. The guest of honor was General Elwood "Pete" Quesada, for whom the Clarkson Cadet contingent was named. Classes began in 1982.
