Open House Activity Descriptions
What can you expect to experience during Clarkson’s Spring Open House? Here is a sampling of some of the activities that we have planned.
Check-in & Breakfast
Check-in to receive your packet of information for the day, including your full schedule, and then enjoy a light breakfast before your first session. You should get information on your check-in time prior to April 5.
Academic Information Sessions
Now is the perfect time to meet faculty and current students in the academic programs you are interested in. It’s okay if you can’t narrow down to just one major — feel free to attend more than one session!
Arts & Sciences Alumni Meet & Greet
Start your networking with Clarkson alumni early during this informal session with alumni from the School of Arts & Sciences, which is open to students interested in any major.
Athletics & Recreation Session
An overview of the more social side of Clarkson — including information about our Division I hockey programs, Division III varsity sports teams, club sports and intramural sports.
Join our Clarkson student tour guides as they visit all of Clarkson’s major academic and social venues. Have questions about life at Clarkson? Now is the perfect time to ask!
Career Center Panel
Join Jeff Taylor, director of the Career Center, along with Clarkson alumni, to learn more about opportunities for you: internships and co-ops, and the job market after graduation.
Dr. Jim’s Chemistry Magic Show
This is a show that is sure to wow students from all majors. Join Dr. Jim Peploski (who teaches freshman chemistry) as he creates magic using everyday chemicals.
Financial Aid Sessions
Join Kara Pitts, director of financial aid, as she navigates through the financial aid process. There will be a question and answer period at the end of this session.
A buffet-style lunch will be served in Cheel Arena, where you can mix and mingle with faculty from all of our schools. If you have any food allergies, please let the Admissions staff know ahead of time.
A panel for prospective parents is given by parents of current Clarkson students. Come to hear personal anecdotes and ask lots of questions!
Have your photo taken with family and/or new friends in our one-of-a-kind Clarkson photo booth. Take home a memento of your day at Clarkson free of charge!
Reh Center for Entrepreneurship — Hands-on Activity
Clarkson’s Reh Center for Entrepreneurship has a long history of turning freshmen students from all majors and schools into successful entrepreneurs. Get some hands-on experience with this fun activity before you come to Clarkson in the fall.
Student Activities & Service Fair
Take a walk around our Activities Fair to learn what clubs and organizations you may want to join once you become a Clarkson student. There is something for everyone!
A panel for our prospective students is given by current Clarkson students. Now is a great time to ask questions to the students living the Clarkson experience every day!
