Undergraduate Admission Requirements
Our admission process, like the education we provide, is highly personalized. Your application will be evaluated carefully to determine how you and Clarkson are a good fit.
Among the factors we consider are your secondary school record, scores on the SAT or ACT exam, and scores on the SAT Subject Exams. Since numbers don't tell the whole story, we also strongly consider personal recommendations, extracurricular activities, individual honors and accomplishments, special talents and your own personal statement.
In addition to the Common Application and Supplement Form, we ask that you submit:
- Secondary school record
- SAT or ACT results
- A personal statement describing a special interest, experience or achievement that is important and meaningful to you
- Two Letters of Recommendation; one must be from the principal, headmaster or school counselor
We strongly recommend a campus visit and personal interview. That way, you’ll learn more about us and we’ll learn more about you.
If you are interested in business and liberal arts, your secondary school record should include four units of English, three units of mathematics and one unit of science.
If you are interested in engineering, science and interdisciplinary engineering and management programs, your record should include four units of English, four units of mathematics, and three to four units of science, including chemistry and physics.
