The Office of Diversity Initiatives and Pipeline Programs is focused upon the creation of an academic experience that prepares all students to excel in the increasingly diverse working environment of the 21st Century. The office is part of the Multicultural Affairs Committee, which makes recommendations on student and staff recruitment, creating a welcoming environment for students from diverse backgrounds, and helping incorporate multicultural issues in the curriculum.
Each year, there are a number of programs and services promoting cultural awareness on campus, and leadership opportunities to enhance the appreciation of diversity throughout the University community.
Today's successful graduate will be required to navigate the issues of gender, race, disability, socioeconomic status, and nationality with aplomb during the course of his or her professional career. Through grants, corporate investment, and agreements with partner institutions, the Office of Institutional Diversity Initiatives and Pipeline Programs has a commitment to the recruitment of a diverse campus community and the provision of academic support for all students on campus.
