  Clarkson University is the recipient of a $40,000 Educational Partnership grant from the Dominion Foundation to support the University's Local Energy Efficient Food Facility. This program aims to provide Clarkson students with opportunities to apply their engineering, science, and business skills to a project that addresses a real-world problem.

• Clarkson University Supports Physician Assistant Hiring and Retention at Canton-Potsdam Hospital

  

  Clarkson University is helping Canton-Potsdam Hospital (CPH) attract and retain physician assistants with a contribution of $100,000 to the Hospital Foundation's "Constructing Healthier Communities" Campaign. The contribution is payable over five years.

• Clarkson University Employees Donate Nearly 800 Food Items to Those in Need

  

  Clarkson University employees collected 798 non-perishable food items at their annual holiday luncheon Dec. 19. The food will be distributed by the Potsdam Neighborhood Center to those in need.

  Walker Center at Clarkson University was invaded by Bacteria Busters, Bone Crusherz, Stylisih Bunchy Banana Bots and 15 other teams as they competed in the fifth annual FIRST Lego League robotics tournament on December 3.

• Twenty-four Teams Compete in FIRST Tech Challenge Championship Robotics Tournament at Clarkson University

  

  The fifth annual FIRST Tech Challenge Championship Tournament was held December 2 at Clarkson University. The event drew high school students from as far away as Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and western New York.

  Clarkson University provided local middle school students with an opportunity to hone their robotics skills this summer. Approximately 50 students attended three regional camps that were offered in the Lisbon, Gouverneur and Norwood-Norfolk school districts.

• Researchers from Clarkson University, SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Oswego to Recive $6.5 Million from EPA to Monitor Great Lakes Fish

  The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Clarkson University a $6.5 million five-year grant to continue its partnership with SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Oswego to conduct the Great Lakes Fish Monitoring and Surveillance Program (GLFMSP). The EPA awarded this same partnership team $1.75 million in 2006 to provide chemical analysis of Great Lakes fish tissue. The funding is part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
