One in five Clarkson University graduates is the CEO, vice president or owner of his or her own company. Great careers like that don’t just happen — they result from a progressive education, solid career planning, and plenty of opportunities to acquire meaningful real-world experience.

The Clarkson Career Center takes an active role in helping students to reach their post-graduate goals. Each year, graduates enter into top employment and graduate school opportunities. All information and graduate data presented below pertains to the Class of 2011.

Clarkson University placement data:

  • The overall University placement rate for the Class of 2011 was 96 percent.
  • The majority of Clarkson graduates enter directly into the workforce. However, many Clarkson University graduates elect to further their studies through graduate education.

Average starting salary:

Clarkson University graduates, on average, begin their careers at highly competitive rates. According to Payscale’s 2011 College Salary Report, the average starting salary of Clarkson graduates is $57,900 placing us #17 out of 1003 universities listed in this independent compensation benchmarking service.

All data reported above is collected via the annual placement survey given to all graduates. The data is collected via a questionnaire and is collected at four intervals (at the time of graduation, as well as at three, six, and eight months). Clarkson University graduates enter into a variety of industries and occupations, examples include leadership development programs, operations, process engineering, research and design, consulting, financial analysis, and supply chain.

Placement data for the Class of 2012 is currently being collected. Early indicators, including the number of opportunities available, spring campus recruitment, and employer registration for upcoming recruitment events, are favorable. Based upon these indicators and graduate replies, the Career Center expects that the Class of 2012 will fare similarly to the preceding class.
